Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our
dog daycare and what to expect.
Can't find the answer you're looking for?
Yes we can feed your dog during the day. This needs to be detailed in your profile and food must be supplied, clearly labelled with directions.
Dogs are carefully grouped by both size and temperament. While we believe it’s important for dogs of all sizes to socialise, all interactions are strictly supervised. We never mix a large, high-energy dog with a small, low-energy dog, ensuring every dog’s safety and comfort at all times.
We have a designated artificial grass area to encourage toileting. Any accidents on the concrete are promptly cleaned with a specialised solution, and solid waste is bagged and disposed of. At the end of each day, the entire play area is thoroughly disinfected to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness.
Dogs actually need a lot more rest than most people think just like when you’re home, they spend much of their time sleeping. While exercise is important, the goal is a balance a happy, well-rested dog, not an overtired and stressed one. We want daycare to be a positive experience.
Male dogsEntire males are generally accepted up to 6 months of age.In some cases, we may allow attendance until 12 months, depending on the individual dog's behaviour, maturity and compatibility with the group.Dog Central reserves the right to require neutering before continued attendance if behaviour becomes inappropriate or impacts other dogs.Female dogsEntire females may attend unless in season. We also require a minimum two-week exclusion period after the final day of bleeding before returning to daycare.Dog Central reserves the right to refuse or suspend attendance of any entire dog where we believe it is in the best interests of the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in our care.
Dogs are not routinely crated throughout the day. However, supervised rest periods are an important part of a healthy daycare routine. If your dog would benefit from a break from play, they may be settled in a comfortable crate, cubby or quiet rest area with fresh water, comfortable bedding and an enrichment activity such as a stuffed kong or puzzle toy. These rest periods help prevent overstimulation, reduce fatigue and support your dog's overall wellbeing.
While we carefully supervise all dogs, normal dog play can occasionally result in minor injuries, just as children may receive bumps and scrapes while playing. If your dog experiences a minor injury or illness, we will inform you when you collect them. If veterinary attention or urgent medical care is required, we will contact you immediately (or your emergency contact if we are unable to reach you).Where immediate veterinary treatment is necessary, Dog Central is authorised to transport your dog to our preferred veterinary clinic or the nearest available veterinarian.Any veterinary or associated medical costs remain the responsibility of the owner.
If your dog is temporarily unable to attend due to holidays, illness or other circumstances, we can hold their regular placement for up to 4 weeks, provided the applicable holding fees are paid.Placements held longer than 4 weeks may be reviewed at management's discretion and cannot be guaranteed.
